Uchronic Antiques refers to bygone objects d’art from a hypothetical time. Digital reinterpretations of artifacts were developed using an antique object data base. These articles were then created through Machine Learning – a conscious technique to use ephemeral media to create something tangible. These Objects D’Uchronie reimagine the appeal of heirlooms in the disposable age. Objects d’Uchronie challenge the role antiques place in the age of impermanence. Developed with a contemporary aesthetic, the objects assume a newfound value and explore the symbiotic relationship objects d’art and new evolving technologies.
