Cha is the first publication by Brown Leaders and Artists Exist (BL&ME), featuring works by 27 artist-researchers from around the world, selected through an open call. The project examines the evolving concept of cultural identity in relation to its representation and inclusion in arts and culture. Through its design, Cha tells many visual stories of identity, inclusion and self-discovery. The different submissions explore the ever-growing need to acknowledge complex historical truths, their contemporary legacies and look towards reforming ideas. It was important to cretee a simbiotic design throughout the project that would also let each piece speak for itself. Cha is supported by: Research at Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon Colleges of Arts at UAL, British Art Network, Tate, Paul Mellon Centre and many others.
